Tasogare Shoot - Concord Park

April 19th, 2008 (01:12 am)

This shoot was just a small one that Senna and I did, mostly to showcase the gorgeous cloak that she got for Christmas. We took advantage of the momentary good weather to go out in her Orihime wig and the cloak, dressed in a rennaissance style dress. Of course, as soon as we got out there, the temperature dropped about 10 degrees and we started freezing. Because of that, a lot of the pictures were so blurry from my hands shaking that we ended up retreating to the fake flowers aisle of the local Walmart. Still, it was fun.

Characters Represented:

Inoue Orihime - Senna

Tasogare Shoot - Raleigh Rose Gardens/Crabtree Valley Mall

April 19th, 2008 (01:11 am)

We hadn't done a Tasogare shoot in awhile, and seeing as I was lacking in images for my Hiyori cosplay and Senna had her new Rin costume to display, it seemed the perfect opportunity. We started at the mall, seeing as there are numerous candy stores there and Rin would be completely in his element. It also made for a cute setting to do a "secret date" photoshoot for Hiyori and Shinji. When we got tired of the mall, we went over to Raleigh Rose gardens, though they'd recently been pruned down, and got some nice outdoor shots there.

Characters Represented:

Sarugaki Hiyori - Taichou
Tsubokura Rin - Senna
Hirako Shinji - Hirako

Bleach - Tsubokura Rin

April 19th, 2008 (01:11 am)

One of the cosplays that Senna has always wanted to do is Tsubokura Rin from the 12th division of Bleach. Rin is an adorable guy, always running around in search of the best candy, and Senna made a wonderful Rin. The costume was really simple, made of white linen. It's really just an altered kimono pattern with a lapel neck and slightly more A-lined so that it fits over the normal shihakushou. It was made out of white linen and only took about an hour to do in it's entirety.

Bleach - Inoue Orihime's Soten Kisshun

April 19th, 2008 (01:11 am)

This is one of the most enjoyable props I've made, and probably the largest one so far. I have never seen an Orihime cosplayer who actually had the Soten Kisshun shield to carry around as a prop and I wanted to make one for Senna to use with her costume. The frame is made of pine, with a shimmery orange fabric stretched across it. The petals at the corners are of craft foam, painted blue and glued on.

Bleach - 12th and 8th Division Lt. Badges

April 19th, 2008 (01:10 am)

With the recent flashback chapters of Bleach, Senna and I -- who cosplay Hiyori and Lisa -- wanted to do their shinigami forms. It's something we've wanted to do for awhile, and thankfully we have mostly the entire costumes done. We needed to have the badges made, and that was about it. They were made the same as the badge I made for Yachiru, out of red oak and linen.

Bleach - Sarugaki Hiyori's Zanpakutou

April 19th, 2008 (01:07 am)

Hiyori's zanpakutou was made at the same time as Shinji and Lisa's, and it was constructed the same way, out of oak and basswood. It still needs the sheath, but we're working on that right now.

And here's the finished product, with the tsuka-maki.

Bleach - Yadoumaru Lisa's Zanpakutou

April 19th, 2008 (01:06 am)

Yadoumaru Lisa's zanpakutou, made in tandem with Shinji's and Hiyori's, it has no name yet in canon, but it was made based off of canon shots of it to get the shape of the tsuba and the colour of the tsuka-maki right. To date, it is the only one with a sheath.

Avatar - Sokka's Gloves

April 19th, 2008 (01:05 am)

Made to go with the commission for Sokka's water-tribe outfit.

These were simple, fingerless gloves made of blue jersey material to go with the rest of the Sokka costume that was commissioned.

Bleach - Kurotsuchi Nemu's Gloves

April 19th, 2008 (01:02 am)

These are the gloves that Nemu, as well as Kuchiki Byakuya, wears with her normal shinigami uniform.

Reference Image

The gloves are made of linen-blend, lined with a satiny polyester blend and fitted to Senna's arms. The loops around the fingers are made of twisted white cord and we did the diamond shapes on the tops with white foam glued in place. They fasten up with several hook/eye fasteners along the inside of the arm.

Bleach - Hirako Shinji's Zanpakutou

April 19th, 2008 (01:01 am)

The second of the cluster of swords that we made in our huge prop-fest, this is Hirako Shinji's zanpakutou. Like Benihime, it was made with a full tang, out of red oak before being sanded and painted. Taichou did the hilt-wrapping, as well as much of the construction.

The finished product turned out wonderfully, especially once the tsuka-maki was done. Now all it needs is a sheath.
